We made it into a new year! New things are exciting and we enjoy the opportunities that come with something being new. With this New Year, I have seen people commit to New Year’s Resolutions (i.e. I will do…). I have seen people eager to get organized and to finally complete the big dreams before them (i.e. I plan to create…).
There is something about new things that we find appealing. Some find joy in new opportunities, new friendships, or other new things. After a while, it we do not take the proper care of new things, we quickly become bored and cast them into a pile of things that no longer bring us satisfaction after the newness has diminished.
Sometimes hope appears to be an elusive term. How can we find hope in the darkness? How can we find strength to endure? Without the details, simply know I understand. I have asked similar questions, cried out to God, and even battled with thoughts of, “Will this ever get any better?”
For the past month, I have been learning to endure in personal fitness. A long time ago, I made exercise a priority twice a day. I would complete 15 to 20 minutes of cardio and finish the workout with weight training. Needless to say, life happened.
After battling fatigue, frustration, and overwhelming thoughts to give up, I confronted the truth. Busyness is not fruitful; it produces a cycle of undone tasks that do not have an end result.
